Stay hungry

That day by the Ramen window
He took a heavy drag as though
He spent a life in vacant debt
Before stubbing out his cigarette

He looked at a kid heartily dine
Her noodles, like fates intertwined
But she didn't care to separate
The luscious medley on her plate

A spill here, a scatter there
The chopsticks were a nightmare
But the little girl didn't seem to mind
The slurpy effort and relentless grind

At long last, she tipped the bowl
Before she could reach her end goal
He was abashed on her behalf
But she burst into the cutest laugh

He smiled too because he knew
That the book of life was a milieu
Of a something old, a something blue,
a something borrowed and a something new.
