Water

The wind and earth whisper to the other
"Can we make ripples like her?"
And almost as if she was in on the gossip she said "of course"
You need to grow, fold and importantly, flow
Over and over again, although -
You only really know if it worked
When you hold

The diamonds and sunbeams are learning to spar
Relentlessly strike, but are never at par
And she said "Slow" -
There's wisdom in softness, bending and not breaking
Arching in and waiting
For the right moment to be bold
All in one go

The mid-life-year-old is staring out her patio
Wishing it was at least ten years ago
"Will I ever know what it means to have the answers?"
Playful and with abandon, curious paths we follow
And every time we arrive home
For clarity is always within us, not beyond
We felt it all along
