Dear Helium balloon

Oh Helium balloon, dear Helium balloon,
Did you like to be a valentine?
With those box of chocolates and red wine,
And the card that said "You are mine!"

I tied you to my box of mem'ries,
Would you rather watch the hills and the trees?
And glide through the ocean breeze,
Oh so zen, so at ease.

Oh Helium balloon, dear Helium balloon,
Fly over the clouds and the moon,
Reach the horizon and miss me when you,
Bethink our last adieu.

Don't forget to play chase with the birds,
Beware of the monkeys - they twist their words,
Koalas are cool to hang with, I heard,
Just remember to be a little absurd.

Through fluttering city lights kids are waving,
Yet with age, are obsessed with saving,
Moments in photographs,
Thoughts in words,
Structure in language,
Space in buildings,
Animals in cages,
Logic in mathematics,
Love in relationships,
Hope in expectations,
And rainbows if they found a way.

Oh Helium balloon, dear Helium balloon,
Dance with the stars to your own tune,
And sing to the world of the irony,
That beauty lives best temporarily.
